Dark patterns là một thuật ngữ trong UX design để chỉ các kỹ thuật, chiến lược hoặc mẫu thiết kế có chủ đích nhằm thúc đẩy người dùng thực hiện hành động nào đó mà họ có thể không muốn hoặc không có ý định ban đầu. Dark patterns thường được sử dụng để tạo ra lợi ích cho công ty hoặc tổ chức phát triển sản phẩm, thay vì lợi ích cho người dùng.
